AMDH retains Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation

Here at AMDH, offering our clients confidence and peace of mind that our solutions adhere to the latest cybersecurity standards is paramount.

So, we’re delighted to announce that we’ve once again achieved our Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation for the second year running and Cyber Essentials for the 5th year.

Cyber Essentials is a Government-backed scheme that provides businesses with the knowledge and verification that they have implemented the best practices needed to help protect their data, networks and digital assets from cyberattack.

Launched in 2014 by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), it aims to provide a basic cybersecurity standard for UK businesses, along with validation that accredited organisations are taking all necessary steps to protect themselves – and their customers – from hackers and cybercriminals.

Cyber Essentials forms part of the Government’s National Cyber Security Strategy. It aims to make the UK a safer place to conduct business online.

Companies that have achieved it can reassure their customers that they have put measures in place to secure their IT systems against cyberattack and provide a clear picture of their cybersecurity level.

There are two levels of accreditation – Cyber Essentials and the more advanced Cyber Essentials plus. While Cyber Essentials is self-assessed, Cyber Essentials Plus provides additional assurance that certified organisations have independently verified cybersecurity measures that adhere to the latest best practice guidelines.

We underwent our assessment recently and passed with flying colours.

Earlier this year, NCSC introduced the most significant overhaul of the Cyber Essentials scheme’s technical controls since it was launched in 2014, responding to the evolving cybersecurity challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic and other global economic and geopolitical issues.

The speed of the digital transformation and the adoption of cloud services drove the change. So did the move to work from home and hybrid working, which many organisations adopted during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The latest Cyber Essentials technical controls reflect these changes. The NCSC’s Cyber Essentials delivery partner, the IASME consortium, has produced a technical blog explaining the changes and why they have been introduced.

Alternatively – if you are a small business, charity or church why not read our blog on how the changes may affect you here.

At AMDH, we recognise the ongoing and ever-evolving cybersecurity risks our clients face.

So, making sure we are up to date with our Cyber Essentials accreditation is a key priority.

It gives our clients the peace of mind that we’re taking proactive steps to keep their networks and data safe and secure.

Achieving Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation demonstrates to clients that we take cybersecurity seriously. Technology moves fast, and as it continues to evolve, more organisations are moving to the cloud, storing data and communicating with each other using online or digital applications.

While this helps facilitate more agile, flexible or efficient ways of working, it also increases the threat of cyberattack, which can have a devastating effect on organisations that fall victim.

Our latest Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation highlights our ongoing commitment to cybersecurity, keeping up to date with the latest trends and techniques that cybercriminals use, and showing our clients how seriously we take our responsibility to protect their systems and data.

As a business we are keen to recognise other small businesses where we have benefited from their expertise. This year – for the 5th time  – we have worked with Equilibrium Security Services to complete our Cyber Essentials Accreditation. We would strongly recommend them to anyone looking to get accredited – or looking for advise as to what’s needed.
